1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how the Bad Habits mobile application (the “App”) handles your information. Bad Habits is a habit tracker designed to be private by default: it is built to function fully offline and to keep everything you record on your own device.

By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the App.

2. Information We Collect

We do not collect any personal data. The App does not require an account, a sign-up, an email address, or any login. We do not ask for your name, contacts, location, or any other identifying information.

The information you create while using the App may include:

• The names of the habits you choose to track;
• The colors and plant species you assign to each habit;
• The timestamps of occurrences (“slips”) you log;
• Optional reflection notes you may add (for example, “why did I slip?” and “how will I prevent it?”).

All of this content is stored locally on your device in the App's private storage. It is never transmitted to us or to any third party.

3. How Your Information Is Used

The data you enter is used solely to provide the App's core functionality on your device — for example, displaying your garden, calculating each plant's health state over time, and showing your logged history. Because the data never leaves your device, it is not used for advertising, profiling, or any purpose other than running the App for you.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is saved in a local database on your device. It is protected by your device's own security features (such as your screen lock and the operating system's app sandboxing). Because we never receive or store your data on external servers, there is no remote database that could be breached or that we could access on your behalf.

You remain in control of your data at all times. Deleting a habit removes its associated logs from your device, and uninstalling the App removes all of its locally stored data.

5. No Data Sharing or Selling

We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise share your information with anyone. Since the App does not collect or transmit your data, there is nothing for us to share.

6. Third-Party Services

The App is designed to operate without network access and does not integrate third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.

If you obtained the App through an app store (such as Google Play), that store may independently collect information related to your download or device in accordance with its own privacy policy. That collection is governed by the app store provider, not by us, and is outside the scope of this policy.

7. Children's Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. Because no data is collected or transmitted, the App is safe to use without sharing any personal information.

8. Your Rights and Choices

Since all of your data lives on your device, you have full and direct control over it. You can edit or delete any habit and its logs at any time from within the App, and you can remove all stored data by uninstalling the App.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time — for example, if future versions of the App add new features. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be reflected here, and your continued use of the App after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
